How much does the evaluation cost?
$50 Flat Fee
The certification evaluation is a flat $50 fee — the exact same cost for a brand-new certification or an annual renewal — paid online when you schedule your appointment.
Is certification guaranteed?
No. Certification is a clinical decision made after a licensed Massachusetts clinician evaluates your individual medical history and qualifying conditions.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
You may reschedule your appointment one time, or transfer your paid evaluation to someone else to use. If you are not certified, your $50 is refunded in full; cancellations and missed appointments are not refunded. See our Cancellation & Refund Policy for details.
What happens if I am not certified?
Certification is a clinical determination made during your evaluation. If your clinician determines you do not qualify, your $50 evaluation fee is refunded in full.
Clinical Evaluation & Scope
Is the appointment by video or phone?
Video or Phone
Massachusetts requires a live, face-to-face telehealth encounter for a first certification, so new patients meet by video in the browser, with no app to download. Renewals can be by phone or video.
Who provides the evaluation?
Our certification team consists of experienced, licensed Massachusetts healthcare providers (physicians and nurse practitioners). Appointments are typically brief and focused on your certification needs.
What happens before the visit?
After scheduling and payment, you complete a secure medical intake form covering your health history, current conditions, and prior experience with cannabis. The intake must be completed before your phone visit can take place.
Do I need medical records?
Bring or upload relevant medical documentation when available. Your clinician may request additional documentation if necessary to complete an appropriate evaluation.
Can you tell me what cannabis product or dose to use?
Individualized product, strain, and dosing guidance is outside the scope of the $50 certification service, which is focused specifically on the clinical evaluation for state certification.
Is this the same as ongoing cannabis treatment management?
No. MedicalCardsMA is a focused certification evaluation for patients who want clinical oversight without an ongoing treatment relationship. It does not include medication-interaction management or longitudinal titration. See our Scope of Care page to learn more.

MedicalCardsMA is a dedicated telemedicine practice operated by licensed Massachusetts healthcare providers. We focus exclusively on fast, accessible $50 Massachusetts medical marijuana certifications and renewals with rigorous clinical oversight.
Is my personal and medical information protected and HIPAA-compliant?
Privacy
Yes. MedicalCardsMA follows HIPAA requirements for protecting health information. Your medical intake, health history, and personal details are encrypted and strictly protected. We never sell, rent, or share your information with dispensaries, employers, or third parties. Your data is accessed solely by your certifying clinician to evaluate your care and submit your certification to the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission (CCC).
State Registration & Support
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. Patients must be 18 years of age or older and a resident of Massachusetts.
What are your hours of operation?
We are available 7 days a week: Monday through Sunday, 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM EST.
How do I complete the state registration process?
Once certified by your clinician, your registration is submitted directly to the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission (CCC). You will receive an email from the State with instructions to log in to the Massachusetts Medical Use of Marijuana Program portal and download your PIN / instant access card.
