FAQ
Hi. I can answer general questions about the $50 Massachusetts certification service, phone-based appointments, payment, hours, and renewals. For anything else, leave your name and phone number or email and we’ll follow up.
Frequently asked questions
How much does the evaluation cost?
The certification evaluation is $50 — the same fee for a new certification or a renewal — paid when you schedule your appointment.
Is the appointment by video?
No. Appointments are conducted by phone rather than video.
What happens before the visit?
After scheduling and payment, you complete a secure intake form covering your medical history, current conditions, and prior experience with cannabis. The full intake must be completed before your appointment can take place.
Is certification guaranteed?
No. Certification is a clinical decision made after the clinician evaluates your individual medical situation.
Do I need medical records?
Bring or upload relevant medical information when available. The clinician may request additional documentation if necessary to complete an appropriate evaluation.
Can you tell me what cannabis product or dose to use?
Individualized product and dosing guidance is outside the scope of the $50 certification service, which is limited to the certification evaluation itself.
Is this the same as ongoing cannabis treatment management?
No. MedicalCardsMA is a focused certification evaluation: a licensed physician or nurse practitioner reviews your intake and medical history and makes an individual clinical decision on whether Massachusetts medical cannabis certification is appropriate for you. This model is built for patients who want that clinical oversight without an ongoing, involved treatment relationship. It does not include dosing, titration, product guidance, or medication-interaction management. If your needs go beyond certification, see our scope of care page, and we encourage you to seek a dedicated cannabis medicine practice for that more comprehensive, ongoing level of care.
Who provides the evaluation?
Our certification team includes both physicians and nurse practitioners. Appointment length depends on your needs — a straightforward certification visit is typically brief.
Is there an age requirement?
Yes. Patients must be 18 or older.
What are your hours?
We’re available Monday through Sunday, 12 PM to 5 PM.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
You may reschedule your appointment one time, or transfer your paid evaluation to someone else to use instead. The evaluation fee is non-refundable in all cases. See our Cancellation & Refund Policy for details.
What happens if I am not certified?
Certification is a clinical decision made during your evaluation. The evaluation fee is non-refundable regardless of the outcome.
How do I complete the state registration process?
[PLACEHOLDER: insert the approved, concise explanation and a link to the official Massachusetts Medical Use of Marijuana Program registration resource once confirmed.]
